Spaces and territories have been defined by what we refer to as “place.” Various materials can be used to protect or represent specific areas, with fences being a prominent example. The designs of these fences vary across different time periods and cultures. In this narrative, the spaces beyond the rusty fence symbolize the imagination of untouched nature, contrasted with man-made objects that highlight the unnatural feeling when people are unable to explore or seek out new spaces. This perspective invites us to reflect on the places we’ve constructed.
